Meeting Rescheduled: Bylaws Committee Undertakes Review and Revision of Club Governance Rules

Rotary club governanceRotary's International's call for more contemporary focus on club governance, has prompted Pres. David Boree to call on the club's Charter and Bylaws committee to undertake a complete review of the club's underlying governing documents. RI's Council on Legislation has loosened many longstanding club rules to allow more club autonomy in the hopes that it will stimulate membership recruiting and member participation.

Committee chair Janet Owens announced: "The Charter & Bylaws Committee has begun its work of identifying provisions in the club’s bylaws and articles of incorporation for recommended revisions and updates. The Committee will meet immediately following the September 11th luncheon meeting.  If you have any recommendations for the Committee to consider, please feel free to send them to any member of the committee, to This email address is being protected from spambots. One of the easiest e-clubs for you to attend is the e-Club of Northeast Florida which is the official e-club of District 6970. Its weekly meeting lasts from 6 pm Saturday to 6 pm Friday (24/7). The attendance fee is $5.00.
