WEEK 52 - BEGINNING JUNE 26

Marshall Butler, Rotary District 6970 GovernorHere it is. The last Message From Marshall. I am grateful for having this platform every week to share the great things that are happening in Florida’s Crown District, and around the Rotary world.

It has been an incredible honor to serve as the District Governor for the GREATEST ROTARY DISTRICT IN THE WORLD. Having the chance to visit every club, meet incredible people and see the amazing things you all do to serve humanity and make a difference in your communities. And we are only one district out of over 500 in the world. When you do the math, you truly appreciate Rotary’s global impact. I can not imagine a world without Rotarians.

A few of Rotary 6970’s accomplishments this year:

  1. We achieved a 5-year high in giving to the Annual Fund ($537,000)
  2. We nearly doubled our PolioPlus goal off $144,000 by contributing $253,000
  3. We grew membership by 4% and added a new Rotary club
  4. We positioned ourselves for the future by adding Rotaract, Interact and EarlyAct clubs this year
  5. WE HAD LOTS OF FUN!

And we celebrated all of these achievements in Atlanta at our All Star Conference and the International Convention. Many new relationships were formed and I look forward to seeing more opportunities for intra-club projects and fellowships.

So it is now time to pass the baton to DGE Brent Coates, DGN Jeanette Loftus, and DGND Mike Darragh. I know you all will give them your complete support as Rotary District 6970 continues to lead the way.

Finally, I would like to thank my family for their support this year. This was a team effort and none of it could have heppened without the support I received at home.

Hey now! You're an ALL STAR, get your game on, go play.

And all that glitters is gold.

Only shooting stars break the mold.
